MEASUREMENT INSTRUCTIONS
VARIANT I - tape measure + neck 1. Take a flexible tape measure 2. Place the measuring tape around your neck, leaving two finger widths of space. 3. Read and note the size or select it directly in the store Here are the detailed instructions to measure the neck circumference using your dog's neck circumference and a tape measure: Preparation and choice of materials Take a flexible tape measure. A soft, flexible tape measure is particularly suitable because it can adapt to the dog's body shape and allows for precise measurements. Find the right position Find the place on your dog's neck where the collar will later sit. As a rule, this position is close to the shoulders. This is the ideal area for the collar to fit comfortably and not slip. Put on the tape measure Carefully place the tape measure around the dog's neck. Make sure the band is two finger widths tight. The tape measure should be closed around the neck so that the entire circumference of the neck is covered. Finger spacing for comfort To ensure that the collar fits comfortably later, you should leave two finger-widths of space between the neck and the measuring tape. This ensures that the collar is loose enough to allow your dog freedom of movement, but not so loose that it could slip. CAROUZ offers adjustable eyelets for adjustment. Reading and noting the circumference Now read the tape measure and note the measured circumference. This measurement will give you the appropriate size of the collar. Pay attention to the leeway for buckle collars Our buckle collars often give you extra wiggle room as they are designed so the clasp can be easily adjusted. This wiggle room allows you to optimize the fit so that the collar fits perfectly and can be easily adjusted depending on your dog's growth or weight fluctuations. Additional tip: If you are between sizes, choose the larger size to ensure the collar fits comfortably and leaves enough room for adjustments.
VARIANT II - tape measure + collar 1. Take a well-fitting collar. 2. Close in appropriate size. 3. Put on a measuring tape: Place it along the inside of the collar and measure the circumference. Here are the detailed instructions to measure the neck circumference using an already well-fitting collar and a tape measure: Choose a suitable collar Choose a collar that fits your dog well and is comfortable. Make sure that this collar is neither too tight nor too loose for your dog and that it is in the correct position on his neck when he is wearing it. This collar serves as a template for the measurement. Lay out the collar on a smooth surface Remove the collar and find a smooth, flat surface to lay the collar on - such as a table or a clean floor. The collar should lie as flat as possible so that the measurement is precise. Close the collar Fasten the collar the way it would fit on your dog's neck. Make sure it is locked in a position that fits your dog well. This step is important because when measuring, the collar must be adjusted exactly as it is worn on your dog's neck. Put on a tape measure Take a flexible measuring tape and place it along the inside of the closed collar. Starting at one point on the clasp, wrap the tape measure around the inner edge of the collar, measuring the entire length that would fit around the neck. Read and note the circumference Now read the circumference on the tape measure and note this value. This is your dog's neck circumference and serves as a reference measurement for new collars. Additional tip: If you don't have a tape measure, see option 3 to find out how you can measure without a tape measure and using a ruler or set square.
